Out of the 50 states, freshwater stingrays are illegal in Arizona, Arkansas, California, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Mississippi, Nevada, Oklahoma, Texas and Utah.
How long do black diamond stingrays live?
Males reach sexual maturity at around 43-47 cm (17-19 in) across and 7 years of age, while females grow slower still, reaching maturity at around 57-66 cm (22-26 in) across and 10 years of age. The maximum lifespan has been estimated at least 19 years for males and 28 years for females.
How big of a tank do you need for a freshwater stingray?
A tank to keep a stingray should be at least 70 gallons to start, but between 125-250 gallons would allow the fish more room when it grows. The tank should also be wider than traditional tank dimensions; it should have at least a 3-4-foot length and an 18 inch width.
