Lemon Oscar (Astronotus ocellatus) CareSheet
The Lemon Oscar is a deliberately bred variant of the famous Oscar with brilliant yellow and gold color, as its name indicates. Oscars are a huge, predatory fish that demand large aquariums and should be housed with tankmates of equal size. Although Oscars have a reputation for hostility, they are rather docile for a giant cichlid and can thrive in a mixed community of huge fish if given enough tank room. As they develop, feeding them a diverse diet of high-quality prepared and frozen meals can help them maintain their finest colors.
